Thamer Alsulaiman
Computational Scientist Intern
Thamer Received his Computer Science PhD in 2019 from the University of Iowa. His thesis was focused on HPC applied to Bioinformatics, where he developed an HPC program to detect DNA mutations in human DNA. Prior to that he worked on Fault-tolerant, distributed algorithms applied to network problems. Following his graduation, he joined the faculty of Computer Science at University of Iowa for one year, then moved to industry where he worked on virtual networking in the cloud. Thamer joined BioHPC team as a computational scientist, and is happy to contribute to the research community at UT Southwestern.
