Exploring Flywheel.io for Radiology Research and AI
Matthew Lewis, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor with the Radiology Department at UT Southwestern. His research interests are focused on task-specific imaging, acoustic inverse scattering of breast microcalcifications, molecular imaging instrumentation including nuclear medicine and optical imaging, linear and non-linear diffraction tomography, tensor tomography of anisotropic materials, acoustic reflectometry of bone, and applied inverse problems.
flywheel.biohpc.swmed.edu is an on-premise deployment of a commercial Medical Imaging Data and AI Platform from Flywheel.io. In this session, Dr. Lewis will review the history and requirements for Radiology's Research PACS infrastructure, as well as discuss the core components of flywheel.biohpc.swmed.edu. Dr. Lewis will also describe additional integration with clinical applications that we have rolled out for translational research purposes. Lastly, the use of flywheel.biohpc.swmed.edu as a potential unified platform for new AI model deployment will be discussed.
BioHPC provides high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure & services to the UT Southwestern community. It was conceptualized by and is housed within the Lyda Hill Department of Bioinformatics. The BioHPC team covers all aspects of HPC for users, from technical jobs like system expansion and maintenance to carrying out collaborative work on computational aspects of research projects. BioHPC also provides support to current UTSW PhD students and PostDocs interested in applying computer science to their ongoing biomedical research projects.
This event will be held in a hybrid format. Please join us in-person at ND11.218 on UT Southwestern North campus or join us on Teams. Meeting ID: 244 476 123 291, Passcode: iJAZyi
